Ok. I guess this blog is stemming from a bit of jealousy. As I peruse my sisters’ blogs, I come across stories about their adorable children. Now, they are adorable and absolutely blog-worthy, but I was beginning to feel left out. So, this blog is dedicated to my dog, Cooper. He is a mix, but looks like a fox. I rescued him almost 2 years ago, and he’s (I don’t wanna sell this too much) the best dog ever!
He might not play soccer or be in dance recitals. He doesn’t watch Elmo or take meep-meeps. I’ve never seen him in a sonogram, and he doesn’t have a ‘flirty smile.’ He’s never had a first word or said a dinner prayer, but nonetheless, he is amazing.
Cooper is named after CNN correspondent and host of Anderson Cooper 360, Anderson Cooper. He loves treats, and anything that happens to fall from my fork on the way to my mouth. He lives for his visits to Paul & Abby’s and heads straight for Lauren’s highchair, cause he knows where the goods are. What a genius! He taught himself how to fetch because, I definitely didn’t spend the time and/or energy to train him in this amazing skill. He also sits on command. Amazingly enough, he also was housebroken in just a day! (Beat that Sarah and Abby!)
Now, the good and bad all come together. So, I must divulge areas where Cooper could use some improvement. He gets almost violently excited around other dogs. When I take him for walks around Addison Circle, he practically chokes himself to try and play with other dogs. Social like his dad I would say. Although, I don’t sniff butts of people I socialize with! He also wakes up much too early and runs around the apartment waking me up on my days I actually get to sleep in.
All in all, Cooper is just the epitome of a ‘man’s best friend.’

I love my "neph-dog". Thanks for the potty-training challenge. If you are so good at it, you can train Lou! What do you think, Sarah? Is he up for the challenge????
never!!!! not enough patience!
We shall see. How does Lauren feel about doggie treats? Since she's always headed towards the dog food, I'm guessing pretty ok...
